First, I want to say that I hope I did this right. Wikispace is definitely not my friend! No one ever said I was good with technology! When looking at other PLN's, I saw a few similarities. First, a lot of the others included websites like Google and using things like Google Docs and images. They also listed other resources such as Facebook or social networking sites, which I also use. I found that many of the PLN's I looked at were enormous. I feel like mine does not have the same amount of connections that others have. This I hope will change.

I feel that with this course having us look at blogs and RSS feeds, my PLN will grow. I am looking at things I have never really took the time to look at before. I also feel that everyone in this class will begin to contribute more and more to my PLN. Therefore, it is my hope to see my PLN constantly growing.

This was a traumatic experience for me, and I hope I've finally got it right.

I chose this particular tool because it was one that I could link to and one that I had minimal difficulty dechipering. I've listed the aggregator and internet seperately beause I am still unfamiliar with RSS feeds and Wikis and will have to rely on the Internet and its more traditional uses until I get a feel for these tools. I might have listed my mobile phone as did some of the models, but I do not have an iphone yet. Here in NEPA, connectivity is sometimes spotty so that I cannot depend on the device. This lack of connectivity severly limits my choices of web tools, including Skype, YouTube, anything that might involve streaming. Frustrating!

Please note that I have included students in my plan. As a teacher, I feel that student feedback is essential in my learning network. As a matter-of-fact, they help with my connectivity to Web 2.0, often explaining some of the tools they use and how they use them.

In sum, my plan is not as 21st century as I'd like it to be. I am in hopes that, through this class and experimentation with these available Web 2.0 tools that I can expand and expound on a personal learning network.

My PLN is similar to those I looked at and at the same time it is very different. Many of the PLNs I looked at had similar items on their chart. Many had Google and social networking sites like Twitter. Some of the other PLNs had arrows. I chose to use arrows because I think it depicts the input/output aspect of my PLN. Some of the other PLNs I looked at did not use arrows, they simply connected everything with a line. One of the biggest differences, I feel is the simplicity of my PLN. So many of the other PLNs were very complicated and difficult to read. Some PLNs were enormous. It was overwhelming. As of right now my PLN is small. I don't utilize as much information as I could but I will work on this.

In the future I think my PLN will grow. I would like not only the places where I am getting my information from to grow but also the output. I currently do not have a blog but have considered creating one. I have a Twitter account that I use to pass information on to my students. I do not really utilize it to gain information, which I should. I believe that this is a good start for my PLN but that it definitely needs to be expanded.

My PLN is pretty basic, compared to the ones that were in Activity 4. I share some similarities, but the complexity of those examples makes my head spin. I plan to use more social media for educational use, as i don't really use it at all. Resources like Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter will really get me moving in the right direction so I can connect and collaborate with other teachers.

I think my PLN is similar to those that I reviewed in Activity 4. My PLN contains a lot of the same connections as those did. My only issue is that I wasn't able to have some of my arrows go both ways such as with my RSS feed. I think I was limited to certain things since I was using a free concept mapping tool.

I see my PLN continuously growing over time. I use many of these connections for both my personal and professional lives. I especially find Pinterest and Twitter helpful in my professional life.

I think my PLN is much simpler than others. I am primarily a Googler, and I like talking to other professionals and colleagues about ideas. Otherwise, I don’t venture out and try too many new things, such as websites. I even encountered difficulty uploading this PLN. With courses like this one and simply my willingness to continue learning, I anticipate my PLN to grow. It is very easy to get comfortable and to continue doing the same things, but I know as an educator that is not what I should do.
